Just got that xl air can. No breakdown anywhere of where the plastic bands go? Im assuming the outer sleeve comes off the main air can because there is an o ring there...but i tried everything today, and it wont budge. Now i have no clue what to do and of course tomorrow is a holiday so wont be able to reach out to anyone for answers til friday. Bummer.
I get the that the GX is heavier, different materials, and cheaper. But the title says it's more refined. Somehow after watching the video I missed the "more refined" part. Anyone have an idea?

Love the bike looks great and from what I see rides great..I just can't get with that price tag..there's very good bikes that will compare really well for under 4k ..even under 3k ..if and when the prices come down id totally get one but not what it costs rn..great vid and bike love it
What is the spray you are using?
Any specific instructions on how to adjust the CAM portion of the lever?
does zeb ultimate differ with anything other from zeb select? i think of upgrading to charger 3.1 but don't know if anything other than the dampers needs to be changed
So Ultimate and Select are diffferent in the damper, buttercups, and bushings. You can essentially upgrade your select fork to the Ultimate by getting the new damper assembly (which will come with buttercups installed), and adding buttercups to your airshaft.
Is that Galbraith?
Yep
Great video Do you guys know how i can make the difference between the old coil spring and the new one ? Thank
👍👍👍👍 super to bych chtěl na kole ❤
I have a base pike 2023 . Want to upgrade do i need both items you have or just the damper assembly
Damper assembly will do the trick!
@@FanatikBikeCo cool thank you also, Buttercup in it so do I need to replace the one on the other side I don't think it has it in there
Is a review of the Forbidden Dreadnought coming to the channel? Haven't been seeing much about that bike online
I do like the SRAM Code RSC's especially adjustability, ease of maintenance, and availability. But some downsides I noticed with mine compared to Maura's is that the brake feel and power wasn't as nice but nothing to scoff at for sure. But even with the contact point adjustment it always felt like I had to squeeze the levers so far in and hard to get even close to the power I was looking for on steep descents. They also feel a little squishy at the bottom and not like they weren't bled properly squishy, but just like the overall braking system was a bit weak like there was some flex or give to the system under hard breaking. The other thing was my rotors kept bending very easily to where they'd always be noisey on the pads, but that was with the older style rotors. After switching to Magura with their thicker and more stout rotors that stopped happening and I love the braking power, modulation, and lever feel with the HC3 levers which are the absolute tits. The shape, feel, and power curve of the Maguras with HC3 levers is really nice. Also, the Maguras feel like they have a lot more power and they feel like there's weight behind it when braking hard on steep descents like when I need the power the Maguras have a brick shit house waiting for me at the bottom of the contact point which feels very defined throughout the strike, with just the right amount of modulation ability or ramp up, but again that raw, solid stopping power at the bottom of the stroke that inspires confidence on those gnarly steep downhill trails. SRAM's levers are much more generic but I don't really like the feel of them sort of feels like a flat/square blade just sticking out where my HC3 levers cradle my index finger with love, just waiting to be squeezed, super cute. The levers, calipers, and rotors look super sick as well. But Maguras are like big hair balls thumping on your cornhole to bleed and centering the rotor is a bit of a pain in the ass too, just setup in general. You definitely have to know what you're doing to bleed them properly and efficiently, there's a bit of a technique you have to use in my experience to get all the air out of the hose, caliper, and lever. They're a bit fidly, and it is a little messy when using the caliper bleed port...especially compared to SRAM which are by far the least fiddly brakes I've ever used, you can tell SRAM puts a lot of engineering into that east of setup, use, and maintenance. So I can definitely see sticking with Code RSC's but idk I still love my Maguras as once you get them setup they're f'n dialed.
Unless he is riding the redbull rampage how does he blow out the shock and the way he talks not once and he probably weights half of what i do. Does he not service and maintain it or what? Or does he case every jump. Just asking
Exactly what I thought I'm 270lbs n never blown mine
I got a giant trance with a DPX2 the guy put on at the end of last year, the thing is aerated and needs to be serviced despite being brand new and having barely any use
Hmm, much more flow is want you want? I can certainly think of exceptions.
The ratchet exp has had lots of reported problems. The 90t deg freehub mostly reverts back to the original and super reliable prior design, but with higher engagement.
Hi great video. I have the Kenevo Expert 2022 with the stock basic RS super delux air, do you know if the new vivid air would clear the frame on full compression and if the vivid coil has the same diameter as the vivid air can? Thanks
You also need to consider rider weight decreasing throughout the test.
When setting up your dreadnought any tips on setting up the tension on bike I have a druid that the vike shop cant get working Everytime you put power down on the pedals in the lower gears it pops or skips hard to explain But bike shop is saying it cant be fixed The claim they did everything forbidden page days to do...any tips?
Unfortunately really hard to say without actually seeing the bike. You are also running this AXS/XT set up? Might just have to fine tune the b tension to get it dialed in. But again hard to say what is happening in your situation without seeing the bike.
Shimano brakes are way easier to bleed…
Hi, do you have any information on Vivid coil's compatibility with other coil springs, such as Cane Creek or Fox?
It seems like RS had a plan of selling a new shock or fork waiting a few years, then come out with another one, while coming out with a perfectly timed up grade kit. My buddy just bought a ZEB ultimate v3, and then they just came out with the new color v3.1 while coming out with a v3.1 kit for 75 bucks for all the older models. Then if you want the complete kit fir the v3 it's over 300 bucks. It's pretty clever, and will probably be a huge profit model for them.
So the $360 Charger 3.1 damper assembly is a much easier install, where as the Charger 3.1 piston upgrade is far more affordable at $75, but it does involve more of a complete rebuild to install. So both options will fit into your friends Charger 3 equipped fork, its just a matter of how involved he want's to get to make the upgrade. I'm sure he snagged the Charger 3 fork at a steep discount too. Just a matter of how much work you want to put into making the upgrade!
Hello do you know if a 2.6 maxxis rekon could fit with this fork
Have you guys heard of bikes with engines attached to them? Much more fun and a tad cooler
How does the XL air can differ from the MegNeg?
So the Meg neg was a larger negative airchamber, where the new air can is a larger positive air chamber. The meg neg gave you more mid-stroke support where this XL air can will give you a more linear feel, so more "coil-like" feel for your airshock
RS bringing out upgrades every 6 months. Just make it right the first time FFS🤦♂️🙄💲💵💶💷💳💰🫰🤌
Its actually been two years since they last updated their suspension offerings. Time certainly is flying because that two years seems to have gone by quick!
@@FanatikBikeCo haha yeah I thought was slightly exaggerating. 😅. But damn, 2 years? Time does fly! 🤯
Yep, just with every manufacturer, it's all about the money and telling people they need something when they don't, lol.
If you don't care about the independent adjustment, it seems there was no noticeable on-trail performance upgrade to charger 2.1. They just changed the working principle to IFP. But it's nice that the manual suggests the shimstack for lighter or heavier riders again. They already had this in the charger 1 days.
Is it possible to put a charger 3 in an older model Lyrik?
Charger 3 and 3.1 is only compatible with the D1 and D2 generation of Lyrik chassis. If you are not sure which generation lyrik you have you can headover to the RockShox Trailhead app or website and input your seriel number and it will tell you which generation fork you have
@@FanatikBikeCo yea mines a 2020 model so it’s a C2 chassis. The fork works good anyhow though i have confidence the new forks have now significantly improved.
After watching this, my next bike is going to be a RM...

This in a Lyrik or new Fox Grip X? I just sold my ZEB last week. My bike is hanging on the stand waiting for a new fork
Why did you sell your fork? What do you want different to the Zeb with the new fork? There is a video from Pinkbike that compares the new Zeb with the new 38 and I think those characteristics of the bigger forks should translate to the smaller forks, maybe not though, one obvious difference is that the Lyrik is gonne be less precise compared to the 36 since it flexes a bit more and you might not be able to get your rebound and compression exactly right since one click does more difference in rockshox forks compared to Fox, Rockshox is cheaper though and with the shim stack kits you could theoretically get your damping exactly right, even with Rockshox
I get rid of my Zeb after trying out the new DVO 38, I'll never look back.
Just depends on what you are looking for in a fork. Not going to go wrong with either the Charger 3.1 Lyrik or the GripX 36. If you like a more supple feel the Lyrik is probably the move, and if you want more support the 36 is probably the right move!
Up coming year's , might be butter spread 4.0 Edited: Rockshox ZEB gold edition.
Butter cups ultimate and gold lowers that is the future
Or Rockshox Judy Yellow.
Will you be able to upgrade the 2023 super deluxe ultimate coil to the touchdown tech, basically making it a vivid? It's in the body of the shock not the piggyback correct? The 2023 SDU coil had the same piggyback (RC2T) or am I looking at the images on SRAMs website wrong
Unfortunately at this point you can't purchase the Touchdown damper internals to upgrade your current SD coil to Vivid coil. There is an updated piggy back that you can throw on a SD coil, but that wont' get you Touchdown. TD is happening inside the shock body and not currently available aftermarket to make that upgrade
@@FanatikBikeCo ok thanks
SDU coil didn’t fit my 205x65 trunion Wild because the HBO canister sits too far above the shock body and interferes with my frame. Does the Vivid coil HBO structure appear to be similarly situated?
Definitely upgrading.
Yo chat is this real?
After going through 2 hoops (WTB and Mavic) on my ebike I have decided to go with one of these. Hopefully I have as good of luck as Fanatik!
